Description: The California Poppy is an annual plant with branching blue-green foliage and solitary flowers on long stems. The leaves are dissected into linear segments, while the flowers are yellow, often with orange centers. The California Poppy became the official state flower in 1903. A variety of colors are grown in gardens.
