The Dunes Centers offers animal specimen exhibits, art exhibits, and our popular Lost City of Demille exhibition—a unique and fascinating exhibition featuring a variety of artifacts from the set of Cecil. B. DeMille's silent epic, The Ten Commandments, which was filmed in the dunes near Guadalupe in 1923.
Visit the Dunes Center and enjoy a variety of activities for kids (and adults) of all ages including docent led walks and hands-on activities that promote the conservation and restoration of the Guadalupe-Nipomo Dunes ecosystem through education, research, and the support of cooperative stewardship.
The Olivier Fourie Research Room is the Dunes Center’s research library housing documents, books, articles, and journals all dealing with the Guadalupe-Nipomo Dunes Complex or other dunes complexes around the world.
