"Cultivating Cognition through Creativity"

Beginning June 12th, the Dunes Center will exhibit the artwork of local students from Mary Buren Elementary. The selected pieces are a part of the Dunes Center’s Creative Arts program that was spearheaded by Educational Intern, Kiersten Demmond.

The Creative Arts Program introduces natural science topics to students in new and interesting ways. Lesson content is part natural science and part studio art; the kids are learning about nature while simultaneously learning new methods and mediums for creating art. This program allows kids an opportunity to express themselves artistically on a subject they may not have much interest in otherwise.

The artwork will go on display during our Sphinx Unveiling Gala on June 12th. An official Art Show will be held the following Saturday on June 20th at the Guadalupe Nipomo Dunes Center at 1065 Guadalupe Street, Guadalupe CA, 93434.
