Title: Social Media Internship
Reports to: Executive Director
About the Dunes Center:
The Guadalupe-Nipomo Dunes Center is a natural history museum at the heart of historic downtown Guadalupe that strives to promote the conservation and restoration of the Guadalupe-Nipomo Dunes ecosystem.
Internship Description:
Hours per week: 10-20 hours per week
Under the direction of the Executive Director, the intern(s) will develop and implement outreach and promotional campaigns to boost brand engagement and increase revenue.
General responsibilities may include:
- Assist with the design and execution of social media campaigns
- Create weekly and monthly editorial calendars to promote company brands on various social media websites
- Create and distribute content such as blogs, infographics, videos, and press releases on social media and traditional news outlets
- Track social media engagement to identify high-performing ideas and campaigns for scalability
- Support staff at live and online events
Qualifications:
- Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize in a changing environment and still meet deadlines
- Dynamic self-starter who takes initiative, highly reliable
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Mastery of the major social media platforms including Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, Snap and Google+
- Knowledge of social media analytics software including Facebook Insights, Google Analytics, and Twitter Analytics to track audience engagement and campaign performance
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Upon Completion, Interns will:
Have work experience(s) to draw upon when they enter the profession of their choice
Compensation:
- Letter of recommendation from the Dunes Center upon completion of the internship
- Work experience in the field of event planning
- Internship credit may be able to be arranged with your school’s appropriate department prior to beginning the internship
