Description: Purple Sand Food is a parasitic perennial, meaning it lacks chlorophyll and has a brownish-grey or whitish color. It is often found attached to the roots of Mock Heather. The flowers are crowded on the above-ground stalk. The petals are lavender to bluish-purple with white margins. The flower clusters often resembled purple-flowered golf balls.
