Description: Brass Buttons have flat, yellow flower heads and fleshy stems. Despite being a member of the Sunflower Family (Asteraceae), Brass Buttons lack the typical showy ray flowers of their family. The plant prefers moist habitats, such as salt and freshwater marshes, wetlands, and vernal pools. It most commonly invades disturbed sites but can also spread into undisturbed areas.
