Chumash Shell Midden ~ Community Hike

Join us as we hike through the dunes to the site of the ancient Chumash Shell Midden. The shell midden's are evidence of native habitation and we'll explore the areas where villages were thought to be. Led by our loyal docent Ray Segovia, learn about the amazing history of the Chumash while enjoying the wonder of the Dunes.

Closed toed shoes and layers are recommended as weather conditions and terrain can change significantly. This is a moderate hike with approximately 200ft elevation.

We will meet at the parking lot at Rancho Guadalupe Beach. Take Main Street west from Hwy 1 for approximately 5 miles.
