The long awaited, Images of America: Guadalupe was released this past Saturday at the Dunes Center. A reception was held for local residents and community members to get their copy signed by author and Executive Director, Doug Jenzen. Authors of the Images of America books for the cities of Avila Beach, Grover Beach, and Pismo Beach were also in attendance sign their books.

Members of the historical Guadalupe families congregated in the Dunes Center to enjoy conversation and reminisce about the many great times spent in Guadalupe. Our creative writing programs intern, Alicia Freeman heard stories from longtime Guadalupan, Mr Masatani and his memories of his childhood in Guadalupe.

The book was a great collaboration of the unique families who make of the history of Guadalupe. It was amazing to see their grandchildren and great grandchildren enjoying the family photos represented in the book. Doug Jenzen happily signed over 150 copies of the book for the two hour opening.

The book can be purchased at the Dunes Center or online through the Dunes Center’s online eBay store. All proceeds from the book go directly to the Dunes Center’s educational programming.
