2018-1-6 typewriter workshop flyerJoin the Dunes Center for a free typewriter workshop in honor of the Defender of the Dunes, Kathleen Goddard Jones. This family workshop is designed for participants ages 8 and up.

Jones (1907-2001) was a local environmental activist with a passion for the Guadalupe-Nipomo Dunes Complex who led a 30-year underdog campaign to conserve the Dunes for public enjoyment. Her courage and charm helped to preserve and promote the unique flora and fauna of the Central Coast.

In a time of computers and new technology, participants will learn how to operate vintage typewriters and use them to create letters and poems before decorating their own unique stationary. This program filled with history and creative thinking is sure to ignite the imaginations of families throughout the community.

Space is limited! For more information and to RSVP for this free workshop, please contact Erin Gardner, Educational and Public Programs Coordinator at admin@dunescenter.org or by calling 805-343-2455.
