On April 1 – 2, 2017, the Five Cities Orchid Society (FCOS) will once again be hosting the Central Coast Orchid Show. Every year the FCOS partners with a local nonprofit as the beneficiary for orchid show’s Friday Night Preview on March 31st, which highlights orchids with celebrity orchid judging, wines from local vintners, hors d’oeuvres, and live music.
The Dunes Center, a natural history museum located in the heart of historic Guadalupe, is the benefactor from the event. The museum features specimens from local ecosystems, interactive activities for children, and a well-known exhibit featuring artifacts archaeologically excavated from the site where Cecil B. DeMille filmed The Ten Commandments in 1923. The Dunes Center also administers programming to elementary school children throughout the Central Coast, which have impacted 80,000 local children since we began offering programming in 2005. Generous supporters like you help the Dunes Center keep our lights and doors open so that we can continue to offer educational programs and activities.
The Orchid Show and Sale admission on Saturday from 9-5, and Sunday 10-5 p.m. is $6 for adults and children 12 or under are free.
