Inspiration in the Dunes

The Guadalupe-Nipomo Dunes Complex has long been considered a unique place where artists have found inspiration and subject. Ansel Adams and Edward Weston both photographed the dunes. The Dunites spent countless hours painting, writing about, and contemplating the beauty and serenity that can be found there. As we build our new website, this area will feature some of the local artists who find inspiration on the Central Coast. Please check back for more information.

This photo was taken by local artist, Jules Reuter, in the Pismo State Beach Dunes Preserve. We feature a monthly hike into the dunes with Jules to capture images of light and contrast. Please check our homepage for the upcoming hikes and walks.
